Paragraph Icon Often confused with web development, web design is what makes your website look "Good". Web Design is a process which simply makes (or breaks) the visual aspects of your website. All effective design is made strategically and with a purpose, that purpose is to help get visitors to your site and make them stay.

In order to get visitors to stay you must first focus on your target audience. As you reach your audience, traffic increases which helps your site ranking and helps get more people to come to your website. Ocustruct offers an effective process of design that caters to your target audiences tastes and preferences. Our designs are created from detailed planning and thought to ensure you get what you pay for.

How Ocustruct makes sure you get an effective design:

  • Brainstorming & Definition - Before even starting any artwork we first go into a deep brainstorming session and consider all the factors involved in creating your layout. This is the part of the design where your goals are defined and solutions are considered to complete those goals. The following factors are included in this process: who is the tartget audience, site function, consistency, and maintaining compatibility.
  • Website Structure & Functionality - After brainstorming, we focus on the structure, what content will be on the site and how it will work. This is where part of the rapid development prototyping process will occur. We organize site features and navigation to create a foundation for not only a visually appealing design but a functional one as well.
  • Getting Creative - At this stage of the process, creativity is the key. We will begin template creation according to web standards. After an appealing design is created that meets web standards, we have the pleasure of sharing them with you.
  • Making Sure you Like It - Your opinion is the focus of this stage. You will be presented with the design or designs (based upon the specifics of our contract). After you choose the template you like, we then start making the design come to life. This is done by cutting and coding it into a real and interactive web layout.

Paragraph Icon Web Development is the more logical side of creating a website and deals strictly with how the website functions. Basically web development is the behind the scenes. It deals with the programming logic such as user authentication or how a dynamic calendar logs a date for other people to see. Web development is used to control all of the information entering and leaving the website.

To put it into an analogy, web development is fundamentally a working brain which makes decisions on how everything works. This is also why web development is by far the longest part of any website project. Ocustruct sees development as a crucial part of making sure your site works as you desire it to.

Our Website Development Process:

  • Gathering Requirements & Specification- First and foremost in starting any type of development you must know what you need to do. This is where gathering requirements comes into play, this is the stage where we find out what exactly you want your website to do, this can be anything from just displaying static, unchanging information about an event with one page to your own fully customizable e-commerce online business solution. What you want is up to you, our job is just to make sure what you visualize becomes a reality. After we know what the project consists of we record everything you want for your website to do onto some specification forms which outlines everything that needs to be done in order of importance with time projections for each part.
  • Rapid Development Prototyping - Once everything is laid out, it is then time to start an interactive blueprint. This stage is what helps you know what you're getting and helps us organize and plan everything that needs to be done in a practical way. We do this by actually creating a prototype of your website without any graphics so you may see how it will work and function. When seeing this prototype a new level of communication will be reached to where we can then finalize the specifications and work out any potential problems early on in the project where everything is easily changable.
  • Programming It To Life - Once the prototype is finished it is time to start the real development of the project and begin coding it into an actual working website. This is where databases are created and organized, entire systems and processes are created and everything starts coming to life. This is also where most of the time goes in a web project because this is the heart and soul phase of the entire websites functionality.
  • Debugging - After the project is finished and all features are created the website is then debugged for any possible errors within the code. After creating thousands upon thousands of lines of code it is inevitable within any project for bugs to be created, they are simply almost unavoidable. This stage identifies any potential problems within the written code and fixes them. Debugging does not only deal with fixing problems though, this is also the part where any useless code is deleted and all useful code is organized to be modular and easily maintainable and reusable.
  • Website Testing - After all designs and code are finalized the website is then tested. Website testing and debugging go hand in hand. Website testing is when most or all of the bugs are found and quickly squashed. In order to test the website we get you and other people from the public to just go to the site and play with it. Make sure it works and try to find any holes within the system.

  • Are my current website visitors being converted into sales?
  • Does my website have a professional look and feel?
  • Does my existing website make it easy for visitors to contact me?
  • Is my website up to date with the latest technological trends?

If your answers to any of these questions was no, you may want to consider getting a re-design.
